P.B. (Bärry) Hartog teaches Biblical Studies and ancient Judaism at the Protesant Theological University in the Netherlands. His research deals broadly with ancient Judaism (including the Dead Sea Scrolls and the New Testament) in the context of the Graeco-Roman world. He has a particular interest in issues of textual scholarship and exegesis (including textual criticism of the Hebrew Bible), the construction and development of cultural and religious identity, universal ethics, and intercultural knowledge transfer in an ever-expanding world.
