Ariën Voogt is conducting a doctoral research project as part of the Moral Compass Project. His research is on the pantheism controversy in Classical German philosophy. The focus is on the tension between a pantheistic totality and the individual person. It explores alternatives based on a personalistic view of human and divine personhood. The research is supervised by Prof. Maarten Wisse and Prof. Rick Benjamins.
The following fields are among his research interests: Classical German thought; the contemporary philosopher Giorgio Agamben; the relationship between religion and modernity; political theology; philosophy of digital technology.
