University Council

The University has a representative participation body: the University Council. The Council consists of both members of staff and students. Members of the University Council are elected. The staff delegation consists of five members, drawn from both the academic and support staff of the University. The student delegation likewise consists of five members, drawn from the University's full-time and part-time students.

As the University's representative participation body, the University Council has the right to give advice, the right of consent, and the right of initiative. The University Council Regulations specify the situations in which the Council may exercise each of these rights. In any case, the University Council has powers in the procedure for adopting the University's budget, annual accounts, and annual report. The same applies to the PThU's policy plans and the regulations governing education and examination programmes.
