Advisory Council

The Advisory Council serves as a sounding board for the Executive Board and represents the social and ecclesial context in which the PThU operates. In its consultations with the Executive Board, the Council brings an external perspective to the University. Members of the Advisory Council also act as ambassadors for the PThU within the wider church and society.

With regard to the alignment between the professional fields served by the University and its degree programmes, the Advisory Council also functions as the Professional Field Advisory Committee. The Advisory Council is authorised to provide the Executive Board with solicited and unsolicited advice. The Advisory Council and the Executive Board meet at least twice a year. The members of the Advisory Council are appointed by the Supervisory Board. The Council consists of a maximum of nine members. The members are drawn from across the Protestant Church in the Netherlands. The composition of the Council also ensures that relevant external sectors of society are represented.

The Council also serves as the Professional Field Advisory Committee. In this capacity, it advises the Executive Board on matters relating to education from the perspective of the professional fields relevant to the PThU's degree programmes, including, in particular, the ministry.
