Shingi Masunda from Zimbabwe
My name is Shingi Masunda and I am doing the International Master’s in Theology. I am following the Living Texts track and specializing in New Testament Studies. I received my Bachelor of Theology degree from Justo Mwale University in Lusaka. It was through a former college mate that I got to know about the PThU. I am halfway through my studies and I have learned a lot already! The lecturers at the PThU are dedicated theologians and the Professors are experts in their fields of study.
There is so much to do and see in Groningen and in the Netherlands as well. Getting around is easy as nearly everyone does so on bikes. I am still learning to ride my bike but I am able to get around on foot or by bus. I love walking because of all the beautiful scenery, old buildings and canals!
I live in Casa Mundo (the international convivium). My stay at Casa Mundo has helped me to integrate faster as I share the house with 14 housemates! Once a week we cook together and do an activity after the meal. This has helped me not to feel homesick and I have made wonderful friends from different parts of the world.
If you have any questions about studying at the PThU please feel free to contact me on: firstname.lastname@example.org.
