Albert Jan Heitink appointed as member of the PThU Supervisory Board
The General Synod of the Protestant Church in the Netherlands (PKN) has approved the appointment of Drs Albert Jan Heitink RA as a member of the Supervisory Board of the Protestant Theological University. “The PThU has ancient credentials for an exceptionally relevant field of study.”
Profile
Albert Jan Heitink is a partner at Deloitte Audit & Assurance and possesses the knowledge and experience that fit well with the profile of the seat to which he has been appointed on the Supervisory Board, particularly in the area of operational management. His background is a valuable addition. Unlike the current members, he comes from the private sector and from that perspective brings a meaningful external viewpoint. Heitink is also strongly involved in the church. In addition, his experience teaching in an academic environment is regarded as an advantage. His appointment increases the diversity within the board and complements the team well.
Motivation
Heitink is motivated to contribute, as a supervisor, to the quality of the education of ministers. “The PThU is both literally and figuratively a wonderful setting for a theological university with very old credentials for a field of study that is extraordinarily relevant today. As a member of the Supervisory Board, I will dedicate myself in this role to the continuity of this unique organisation.”
Mr Heitink was appointed with effect from 18 April 2026.
