PThU finds temporary location at Daltonlaan 200 in Utrecht

26 June 2024

After a short but intensive search, PThU has found a temporary location at Daltonlaan 200 in Utrecht. From 1 August, PThU will rent the fourth floor of this building. From 1 September, PThU will conduct its teaching activities at this location. The open stack of the library will also move to the basement. Teaching and research can thus take place at a single location from 1 September.

From 1 September

Kees Boele, PThU board president, is very glad that a temporary location has been found at such short notice where fully-fledged teaching can take place. "There is a lot of office space for rent in Utrecht, but not every office location has enough surface area or is suitable for teaching. Just think of lecture halls for forty students. At Daltonlaan, this is possible. Also, this location is available at short notice, which is important to be able to start our (pre)master education in Utrecht on 1 September. For students and staff, this offers clarity: from 1 September, PThU will be teaching from the Daltonlaan in Utrecht. And we'll now be working towards that together."

About Daltonlaan 200

Daltonlaan 200 is a location of De Stadtuin, a concept for office space and enterprise. Together with other tenants, PThU can use all the facilities offered by De Stadstuin, including a communal meeting room with catering facilities on the ground floor of the building. The building is easily accessible by public transport thanks to a high-frequency bus and express tram connection from Utrecht Central Station.

Programme of requirements

To make a good choice for a temporary location, the transition programme team had drawn up a programme of requirements in advance. The criteria in this programme were established after consultation with BSZ on teaching space and managers on consultation spaces. Employees were able to comment on the criteria during an (online) employee meeting. The chosen location largely fits the requirements.

Relocation

Now that the location is known, the programme team can make final preparations for the move. The move will take place from 1 August and will take about two weeks. The second move, from Daltonlaan 200 to Jansdam 14, will take place in January 2025.
