Defense PhD thesis by Gied ten Berge

On June 12, 2020 at 1.30PM, sociologist and theologian Gied ten Berge (*1948) will defend his PhD thesis Pelgrimeren met een missie. Het Palestijnse ‘Kom en zie’-initiatief in cultuurwetenschappelijk en historisch-theologisch perspectief at Tilburg Catholic School of Theology. This study is the result of a PhD project under the supervision of prof. dr. Paul van Geest and prof.dr. P.G.J. Post.

The defense will take place online and a live-stream will be avaible. Those who are interested to follow the live-stream are invited to send an email to request the login code via the author at irilis@pthu.nl. 

The PhD thesis

This study will be published (in Dutch) as volume 23 in the series Netherlands Studies on Ritual and Liturgy and will be for sale (EUR 20,-). To order your copy of the book, please send an email to crh@rug.nl. Review copies can be obtained via the same address.

About Gied ten Berge (Dutch)

Gied ten Berge (*1948) studeerde sociologie in Leiden en theologie aan de Tilburg School of Catholic Theology. Eerder schreef hij samen met Wantje Fritschy Pelgrimeren naar de Morendoder. Onderweg naar Jacobus van Compostela (Nijmegen 2006), Land van mensen. Christenen, joden en moslims tussen confrontaties en dialoog (Nijmegen 2011) en Kom en zie! Nieuwe pelgrims in het Heilige Land (Nijmegen 2016). Hij is onder meer oud-medewerker van IKV en Pax Christi (PAX).
