PThU signs agreement with Goettingen
PThU has signed an Erasmus+ agreement with the Georg August University in Goettingen, Germany. The agreement makes it possible for bachelor, master and PhD students to spend three to twelve months at one of the most renowned German universities.

Than Sang Awi, from Myanmar, defended his thesis, "a study on the suffering of the sojourners in Ruth 1:1-5", in the Examination room of the Protestant Theological University in Groningen.

Compassion and Human Dignity. Consultation PThU - Stellenbosch 6 and 7 May
Does the world need more compassion? On May 6 and 7, 2015 a consultation was held around the theme Compassion? Global Ethics, Human Dignity, and the Compassionate God at Stellenbosch University, South Africa. The next step in an ongoing partnership, in which PThU researchers yearly meet their South-African colleagues from the Faculty of Theology, for a conference as part of the common research project on Human Dignity.

Travel blog International study trip to Debrecen, Novi Sad and Sarajevo (15-22 april 2015)
Within the framework of the joint bachelor module "Community and Diversity" a group of fifteen students and two lecturers from PThU and VU University has travelled to Debrecen and subsequently -together with eight students and two lecturers from the Reformed Theological University of Debrecen- to Novi Sad (Serbia) and Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina). In Debrecen they organised a student conference, for and by students and followed a “mini internship” in which they interviewed members of church congregations and church councils.

Third Hendrik Kraemer lecture by prof. dr. Philomena Mwaura
You are very welcome to the third annual Hendrik Kraemer lecture on 20 May at the PThU in Amsterdam! This year prof. dr. Philomena Mwaura from Kenya will speak. The lecture starts at 15.00h. The lecture will be preceded by the launch of the new book of J.A.B. Jongeneel, ‘Nederlandse zendingsgeschiedenis: ontmoeting van protestantse christenen met andere godsdiensten en geloven (1601-1917)’, Boekencentrum 2015.

PThU staff participate at conference 'Costly Tolerance'
From 9-12 March an international conference will be organized in Yogyakarta, Indonesia at the Islamic University UIN Sunan Kalijaga. Dutch and Indonesian, Christian and Muslim scholars will share reflections and actions in order to foster tolerance and counter polarisation and radicalisation in the Netherlands and Indonesia. Four PThU staff members will participate at the conference titled ‘Costly Tolerance’.

Lecture prof. Malan Nel 'Youth worship in the South African context'
On February 19 from 10.30u to 13.00u prof. dr. Malan Nel, currently extra-ordinary professor in Practical Theology, University of Pretoria, will provide a lecture on youth worship in the South African context.
